This is the beginning of a commentary on Mark. Hopefully, I will be able to complete this commentary in the months and years to come.
I write as one who has been a Christian and pastor for many years. I have seen the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark at work in my own life and in the lives of others who belong to the great universal church of Christ. Having seen the Lord Jesus at work in the church, and having noticed the practical aspect of Mark's gospel, I will focus on matters that have to do with building up the body of Christ as described by Mark. In other words, this will be a practical commentary, one related to the life of the local church. For that reason, many matters, perhaps of a more academic nature, can be found in other commentaries. The reader will profit from reading those commentaries as well as this one. The links to the chapters are below.
